Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common in world. Anticoagulants and other drugs prescribed as a treatment for these diseases. However, polypharmacy may increase risk drug-drug or food-drug interactions decrease patient compliance. Food-drug put at serious adverse effects reduce safety efficacy treatment. Food‐drug interaction is problem that has occurred result concomitant use multiple with food. term used to describe how food affects medication body. Food can alter effectiveness medication, make unwanted side better worse, even bring on brand-new negative effects. Drugs body processes Consumption foods contain vitamin K makes anticoagulant therapy less effective. On hand, patients should be careful when consuming like garlic, ginseng, ginger, ginkgo avoid undesirable effect hemorrhage. Among medical records examined, no advice recommendations were provided regarding anticoagulant-food interactions, details about time taking exact eating meals given there few instances which medicine dosage was altered due association. A majority who completed an anonymous survey community pharmacies not informed interactions. Healthcare professionals advise anticoagulants they consume clinicians manage dose variability so successful achieved.
